It’s the most wonderful time of the year…side note, also the most expensive time of the year! But what’s not to love when it’s a month full of; eating and drinking, visiting family and friends, work Christmas parties, ultimate self-maintenance, banging tunes and twinkling lights on every corner! HO HO HO!
This has been an ongoing discussion in our office, besides talking windows and doors!
Buying gifts doesn’t have to be stressful! At JADE, we understand how hectic this time of the year can be so have come up with 7 tips to help you have a relatively stress free, gift giving Christmas.
- AVOID THE DREADED HIGH STREET
Shopping on the high street in the run-up to Christmas is anybody’s living nightmare. Instead, stay indoors, feet up with a mug of hot choccie and browse the wonderful world of the big wide web. With infinity gift choices you really can’t go wrong and another plus is that it get delivered to your door! Winner winner! - Don’t be afraid to SUBSCRIBE
Everyone hates getting spammed with hundreds of pointless emails but sign up to your favourite retail stores and be the first to hear about their latest discounts and offers before they hit the high street. Just think, you don’t have to be one of the vultures fighting over that last toy your kid desperately wanted. Discounts are everyone’s holy grail when it comes to the season of giving, let’s face it… Christmas is not cheap! When you subscribe to emails…. You can be the first up for grabs and not be disappointed when the item you wanted goes out of stock! - DIY
Nothing says ‘I’ve really thought about this present’ like a homemade Christmas gift. So, get yourself on Pinterest and put your DIY skills to the test. Grandma Jean will be impressed! - PLAN, PREPARE & ORGANISE
Now don’t laugh but this is a great tip for next year! Talk about being organised…. buy in the 2018 boxing day sales for next year (yes that’s end of 2019)! You will be amazed at how much money you will save and can buy better quality gifts at half the price. Come Christmas next year you will be laughing whilst friends and family complain at the expense and stress of Christmas. Just give it a try! - MAKE A LIST…
…and then check it twice. Make a list of the people you need to purchase presents for and potential gift ideas- this is a massive money saver. That way you don’t duplicate presents or impulse buy and can stick to your original budget. - THE GIFT OF TIME
One of the best gifts you can buy a couple with busy family lives is vouchers and a babysitter! Babysitting= free because guess what… you’re doing it. Then all you need to do is pop to your local super market and purchase a cinema voucher or restaurant voucher and send this lucky couple on a date! Trust me…. There is no greater gift than spending quality time with your nearest and dearest. - ANYTHING AND EVERYTHING!
Have relatives that are super hard to buy for, mainly because they already have everything they want/need!? How about donating to a local charity or sponsoring someone in need instead? The gift of giving maybe be far greater and meaningful to your relative, than a bottle of aftershave that will be put to the back of a wardrobe!
We hope these 7 tips save you from stress and hair loss! Merry Christmas!
